The Siege of Panhala, 1660. It must have been an important day for Siddi Jauhar, as he would have watched Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj make his way back to Panhala Fort. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj had descended the fort to seek terms of surrender, and it was now, only a matter of hours before Siddi’s siege would be successful.

He was a great Maratha Sardar and Mavala who defeated Udaybhan in 1670 for Swarjya. He was childhood friend of Maharaj.

Yesaji Kank was born in Bhor at the foot of Rajgad in 1626 AD in a Maratha family. His father's name was Dadoji Kanka. Yesajirao Kanka (descended from the Ganga dynasty in Sanskrit) was an Maratha chieftain. He was a soldier who joined Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's army. He was an expert in the techniques of guerilla warfare.

Annaji Datto Pant Sachiv was the Sachiv (Chief Secretary) of Council in the Ashta Pradhan (Council of 8) mandal of the Maratha Empire during the rule of Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Before joining the services of Shivaji, Annaji Datto was a Kulkarni of Sangameshwar. He joined Shivaji's administration in 1647.

Bahirji Naik, (original name Bhairavnath Jadhav), was a 17th century Indian spy and military commander in the army of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at a time when the Maratha Empire and Mughal Empire were at war. He was honoured by Shivaji maharaj with the title "Naik" for his great works in Intelligence.

He was the first warrior to sacrifice his life for cause of Swarajya and set an example for great warriors like Baji Prabhu, Farzand & Murarbaji. Baji Prabhu Deshpande (c. 1615–1660) was a commander of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the founder of the Maratha empire. Baji Prabhu is linked with an important rear guard battle enabling Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's escape from Panhala fort. He was the hero who sacrificed his life for Swarajya in Pawankhind.
